Join us for the 5k Run/Walk along beautiful Creve Coeur Lake on Saturday, February 22nd. This event will kickoff our annual campaign focused on addressing homelessness in the St. Louis area.

Activities will include:
     - 5k run/walk 
     - Come dressed in your favorite Mardi Gras outfit and be eligible for prizes!

Awards will be handed out for the first three finishers overall and the first three finishers in each age group.
All ages are welcome to join in on the fun.

Why a 5k in February?

Homelessness is not seasonal.

According to a 2018 report by the National Alliance to End Homelessness it is estimated that 552,830 people experience homelessness across the country. this number represents 17 out of every 10,000 people in the United States, nine percent of the homeless population are veterans and eight percent are unaccompanied youth and children. Homeless veterans in St. Louis represent 11% of the region’s homeless population. MBA-St. Louis’ charitable program “Homers for the Homeless” has focused its efforts toward St. Louis area veterans and youth who represent the area’s homeless population.


Total Number of People Experiencing Homelessness by type for 2018

As of January 2018, Missouri had an estimated 5,883 experiencing homelessness on any given day, as reported by Continuums of Care to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Of that Total, 706 were family households, 507 were Veterans, 534 were unaccompanied young adults (aged 18-24), and 1,043 were individuals experiencing chronic homelessness.

Public school data reported to the U.S. Department of Education during the 2016-2017 school year shows that an estimated 32,133 public school students experienced homelessness over the course of the year. Of that total, 578 students were unsheltered, 2,827 were in shelters, 2,021 were inhotels/motels, and 26,707 were doubled up.


PRICING:

  •      Early Bird Registration before February 7th: $25 per runner/walker (includes long sleeved t-shirt)
  •      After February: $30 per runner/walker (may include t-shirt)


Funds raised form this event will support our 2020 Homers for the Homeless Campaign.

Start Line or Finish Line Sponsorship  - $1,000.00 (limited to one start line and one finish line sponsor)

  • Visible signage at either the start line or finish line identifying sponsorship
  • Second tier logo placement on back of event T-Shirt presented to all registered runners/walkers
  • Entry fee for one runner/walker for the 2019 MBA St. Louis Homers for Homeless 5K

General Sponsorship -  ($500)

  • Visible signage at the entrance and exit of the race identifying sponsorship
  • With $1,000 sponsorship only:
    • Second tier logo placement on back of event T-Shirt presented to all registered runners/walkers
    • Entry fee for one runner/walker for the 2019 MBA St. Louis Homers for Homeless 5K

T-Shirt Sponsorship  - $250.00
(limited to no more than six)

  • Third tier logo placement on back of event T-Shirt presented to all registered runners/walkers

Race Gift Bag Sponsorship - $300

  • Provide gift bags for race participants

Race Participant Gift Sponsorship  - $100.00

  • Visible signage exist of the 5k race identifying sponsorship
  • Sponsorship will also be recognized for companies donating items such as:
    • Water
    • Fruit
    • Goodie Bags
